A grisly road crash along the Garissa-Mwingi-Nairobi road has claimed atleast 10 individual as scores of others injured, after a bus rammed a trailer on Monday Morning.
The Wajir/Nairobi bound Nasib Sacco bus which had 60 passengers aboard was headed to Nairobi City when it hit a stationary trailer at Tula area near Bangal.
Police and witnesses say the death toll could go up given the nature of the injuries the victims sustained.
North Eastern Regional Commissioner Mohamed Birik, while confirming the incidence, said the accident occurred after the bus rammed a stationary cement truck.
“We are investigating the incident. It is unfortunate many have died and others injured,” said Mr. Birik.
Those injured were rushed to Garissa Referral Hospital and health centers in the area.
Nasib Bus reported to have been involved in an accident at an area not far from Bangal 11 people confirmed dead, dozen others injured and are currently receiving treatment at Garissa Referral hospital.
