Nairobi’s Precious Talent School along Ngong Road in Ng’ando area has been shut for four days following the collapse of a 2-storey structure at school on Monday Sept 23rd.

Cabinet Secretary Education Prof. George Magoha while addressing at the school, confirmed that a multi-agency team had been constituted to investigate the 6.50am chilling incident that saw seven pupils aged between 8 and 15 face early death with scores of others injured.

“We have consulted and agreed that all the children should rest until next Monday during which time investigations will have been done, buildings reinspected again thoroughly by professionals, then we will give an informed advice…” Magoha advised.

The CS termed the incident an isolated case which should not send panic in other schools across the country “The children of Kenya are safe in schools. We have close to 35,000 schools and this tragic incident must not be used by anyone to instill fear in public and private schools,” added Magoha.

He also took the opportunity to assure parents that more public schools will be set up in Ng’ando area Dagoretti South. Video/Courtesy:
