“We will set up a soccer academy in Kibra and lobby for sports-based scholarships. We will upgrade existing playgrounds in Laini, Sarangombe and other to acceptable levels to host football, rugby,” he said.

Kibra Member of Parliament aspirant McDonald Mariga on Monday Oct 21st and accompanied by her aging mother finally unveiled his manifesto.

Mildred Wanyama joined her son’s campaign trail during the launch of Mariga’s Sports and Education Manifesto at Woodley, where she was sited pensively following the proceedings as she tightly held on to her crutches.

The son Mariga, explained through his manifesto saying it would entirely be pegged on both education and sports.

The former international footballer-turned-politician promised to form a technical bursary committee made up of parents and teachers in all the wards to ensure bursary allocation is transparent.

He also promised constituents that he would seek international scholarships to empower students. “We will introduce a Kibra CV bank. That will use technology to lobby for the job for our youth.”

On sports front, the former inter-Millan player stated that he would upgrade and then mobilise support from the county, national and international partners to set up a modern stadium at Woodley area.

“We will set up a soccer academy in Kibra and lobby for sports-based scholarships. We will upgrade existing playgrounds in Laini, Sarangombe and other to acceptable levels to host football, rugby,” he said.

His ambitious plan also involved the setting up of Kibra football club, Volleyball, darts, rugby, boxing among many others.
