Court slaps Obado’s aide with 2 years in jail.

“The saga was unearthed by The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) when it received a complaint on 13th July 2016 alleging that two public officers, John Chacha Nyamohanga alias Moses Marandwi an Administration Police Constable and John Chacha Nyamohanga, a KDF officer were sharing a school certificate.”

John Chacha Nyamohanga alias Mosses Marandwi, a former bodyguard to Migori Governor Okoth Obado, has been sentenced to a two-year jail term or pay a fine of sh 500,000.

The state established that he impersonated and used academic certificates of a Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officer to get a job.

He was declared guilty by Milimani Anti-Corruption Court Magistrate, Hon. Douglas Ogoti, who said the suspect impersonated John Chacha Nyamohanga, a KDF Officer.

The saga was unearthed by The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) when it received a complaint on 13th July 2016 alleging that two public officers, John Chacha Nyamohanga alias Moses Marandwi an Administration Police Constable and John Chacha Nyamohanga, a KDF officer were sharing a school certificate.

According to the investigations, Moses used a KCSE certificate of John Chacha Nyamohanga, a KDF officer, to secure employment as Administration Police AP in 2006.

After the DPP recommendations that the suspect be prosecuted for the offence committed contrary to Section 384 of the Penal Code, authorities are now pursuing recovery of the salary he irregularly earned from 2006 to date.
