Speaking moments after containing the incident, the urban police boss Eliud Monari, told the Nation the patients had been safely moved to alternative nearby hospitals.
“The patients have been evacuated and taken to Aga Khan Hospital,” the Kenya Red Cross also tweeted.
On his part, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho who had just been discharged from the facility, a day before, thanked all those who had bravely fought the inferno to save lives.
