Population hits 47.5M with women taking a lead at 50.5%.

 “It was the first of a kind in our history. We fully embrace the use of technology in the exercise. The mobile devices used in the census were assembled by our local universities and the data management software created by our own KNBS,” said President Kenyatta.

Women are more in numbers than their male counterparts in this country. Census report has indicated.

Nearly two months after the census 2019 exercise, the long awaited report was finally unveiled on Monday at State House in Nairobi.

The director-general of the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, Zachary Mwangi, who led the exercise pointed out that out of a total of 47,564,296 million people were enumerated in the August exercise, the majority were women at 24,014,716 million which translates to 50.5% while men were 23,548,056 million.

On the other hand the report also revealed that 1,524 inter-sex people were noticed in the enumeration exercise.

According to K24 Digital, the release exercise was attended by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, ICT CS, Joe Mucheru, CS Ukur Yattani, PS Kibicho among others.

“It was the first of a kind in our history. We fully embrace the use of technology in the exercise. The mobile devices used in the census were assembled by our local universities and the data management software created by our own KNBS,” said President Kenyatta.

Mr. Kenyatta took the opportunity tourge all ministries to make good use of the report for balanced development across the country.

He said that the report was reliable since it was conducted in a digital manner hence reduced errors.
