Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was finally arraigned in a Milimani Corruption Court over sh 357 million where his bail ruling was set to Wednesday.

Appearing before Anti-Corruption Court Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti, Mr. Sonko was charged alongside eight other accomplices from Nairobi County Government officers who are believed to have also benefited from the irregular procurement.

According to Citizen Digital, the Governor and his co-accused were charged with various graft related charges including conspiracy to commit corruption, failure to comply with procurement laws, conflict of interest, abuse of office and unlawful acquisition of public property.

Further, they were also charged with deceiving principal, money laundering and acquisition of proceeds of crime which charges they all pleaded not guilty.

Also charged in the case is Web Tribe Limited, ROG Security Limited, Hardi Enterprises Limited and Toddy Civil Engineering Limited and their directors who are believed to have benefited from the corrupt proceeds funds.

The prosecution has opposed Governor Sonko bail application saying he has once escaped prison but had no objection to the release of the other accused persons on bail.
