Police in Nairobi on Saturday Nov 3o night foiled an attempted car robbery involving two rogue police officers.
Ali Shukri Galgalo of Quarry Police Post and Abdikadir Daiwo, were arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) as they tried to make away with a taxi registered under the Uber app.
According to the DCI, the two suspects applied for a cab via the popular ride-hailing app and interestingly forced the driver to assume the back seat.
However, their well laid out plan fell to shambles after they clumsily crashed the vehicle at the Kilimanjaro roundabout in Eastleigh, Nairobi before attempting to flee on foot in vein.
Reports further indicated that the rogue officers had been taken to Muthaiga Police Station with their arraignment set for Monday, December 2nd.
This is neither the first nor the last incident involving crooked police officers misusing their firearms to rob unsuspecting civilians with the recent incident having occurred at Eistleigh in Nairobi.
