Several Kenyans artists did not show up at Papa Dennis final funeral service held in Matunda, Likuyani, Kakamega County on Wednesday.
This development led to Kenyans asking questions as to why it happened so despite gospel artists promising to stand with the family until last minute.
According to Mpasho, Gospel artist Daddy Owen was the first to defend that the low turn-out during the burial service was because the service was done during a weekday instead of a weekend when most artists would be free.
” I can give three reasons, LIkuyani is very far and travelling there needs planning.
The second reason is that the memorial in Nairobi had been so that those who could not travel can pay their last respects.
Lastly the burial was on a weekend, I feel if it was a weekend most people wangetokelezea.”
Dennis death was one of its kind as according to the history in the country, the Wonder singer was the first to die of suicide.
Among afew others, some of the artists who were present include Ringtone, Gloria Muliro and Mash Mjukuu who was with the diseased when he died in Ngara.
