Police hunt Aden Duale over donation scandal.

“He (Mr Duale) visited the orphanage on Monday. When we opened the food sacks we saw some black substance which raised concern amongst us. It is then that we learnt that the food had already spoiled meaning it was expired.”

Garissa Township MP Aden Duale is entangled in a scandal in which he is said to have donated expired foodstuffs to the needy in in teh area.

Duale was summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over the scandal which he is accused of taking the expired goods to a Garissa orphanage.

Though he termed the claims as not genuine, in the Feb 18th 2020 summons from the DCI and seen by jihmai.com, Mr. Duale was a wanted man by the Assistant General of Police Benedict Oyaro.

It is claimed that several locals had lodged complaints with the police over the matter what led to the summoning.

“Following several complaints from Garissa County residents, we have undertaken an investigation pertaining to the alleged distribution of unsubstance food.

I do hereby require Aden Duale to personally appear before Mr Benedict Oyaro an assistant inspector general of police investigating the alleged offense on 19 February at 10.00 am at DCI headquarters Nairobi.”

Daily Nation on Thursday 20th 2020 reported that the legislator visited Najah Children Home in Garissa town last Monday 17th, 2020 and gave out the controversial food.

Orphanage manager Mohammed Noor also confirmed the report saying rice, flour and maize were some of the food which was donated to their facility. They were therefore forced to destroy when they realised it was not fit for human consumption.
