“Just wait and see where this will end up. Go for the fraudsters,” he stated, further noting that he should be left alone to serve the nation.

Deputy President William Ruto has now waded into the mega scandal said to have been orchestrated in his offices along Harambee Annex, Nairobi.

On Feb 15th, the DP finally issued his statement through his twitter handle blaming his political enemies for dragging his name into things he had nothing to do with.

The Standard reported that DP’s aides are under probe over the scandal, but in a sharp rejoinder, Ruto instantly termed it fake news.

Dr. Ruto said he had nothing to do with the sh 40 billion scandal which his close friend Rashid Echesa is said to have been involved and signed documents in his offices.

“The desperation of my political competitors on their choreographed smear campaign against William Samoei Ruto is evident even for fools (whom we have a shortage for) to see,” Ruto claimed.

“Just wait and see where this will end up. Go for the fraudsters,” he stated, further noting that he should be left alone to serve the nation.

The publication further mentioned that Ruto’s aides are prime suspects or rather persons of interest who police are probing over the deal which would have defrauded Poland nationals a whopping shew 40 billion.

“They must have known something. Again the complainant has named some of the staff. We also recovered the fake tender papers from the office,” The Standrad quoted.

Echesa was on Friday Feb 14th presented at JKIA Law Courts where he was charged with forgery to defraud named foreign individuals sh 40 million in a fire arm supply deal.

Further, the Ex Cabinet Secretary Echesa is claimed to have used Ruto’s offices at Haramnbee House Annex to seal the deal which saw Defense Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma’s signature also used.

In what appears like a Holly wood script, Echesa received sh 11.5 million consultation fee, and if the sh 40 billion deal was through, he was to be added another sh 50 million.

Echesa will be released of Monday at 6PM after paying sh 1 million bail.
