President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake counterpart Hon Raila Odinga have identified key figures in every region to form an umbrella christened the National Summit.

This is part of their efforts to galvanize support across the country ahead of the looming referendum scheduled to take place anytime this year.

According to the Sunday Nation of March 8th, Amani National Congress ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka are among the key summit members picked by the state.

Others are KANU Chairman Gideon Moi, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth who many think will make a perfect replacement for Mr. Uhuru who is poised to exit stage after this second and last term.

This will be the regional representation aimed at addressing key problems of every corner of this country and the subsequent reduction of the BBI contents into an actionable list. They will also be charged with explaining the document to their masses as part of the next political phase after the BBI secretariat is done with collecting views from across the country.

Political pundits have observed that this summit, if it holds, will be another big blow to Deputy President William Ruto since it will be a perfect replica of or much better than The Great 2007 Pentagon.

The political truce between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga gave birth to the Building Bridges Initiative BBI which has been termed by DP’s Tanga Tanga wing as a waste of public resources aimed at stopping his 2022 political ambitions.
